What if I’m not technical? +
All you need is the credentials from your current provider (IMAP/FTP/MySQL passwords from when you signed up). If you can’t find them, your current provider has to give them to you. Everything else happens automatically. If you get stuck, drop us a line at info@zabec.net.
How much does the migration cost? +
For Zabec.net customers it’s free. The only requirement: an active hosting plan with us. If you don’t have one yet, you can activate one in 5 minutes.
Will my site go offline? +
No. Your old site runs in parallel with the new one until you flip DNS. The cut-over takes as long as your TTL — typically 5 minutes if you’ve lowered it beforehand.
What happens to my passwords? +
We store them encrypted (AES-256), use them once to run the migration, and delete them after 30 days. They never appear in a command line or a log. You must rotate every password on both old and new systems after the migration — we can’t guarantee they weren’t already exposed at your previous provider.
How long does it take? +
5 minutes of your time to enter the details. Behind the scenes: email 10–60 min for 10 GB, files 5–30 min for 1 GB, a database usually under 5 minutes. The migration runs overnight too — and you can watch it live.
What if something goes wrong? +
Our goal is for the migration to succeed. We test the passwords before we start, we log the run, and you get a report when it’s done. If something gets stuck, our tech reaches out and we finish it together — free of charge, no extra bill.

24–48 hours before migration, at your DNS provider. Without this the cut-over takes hours instead of minutes. Records:A,AAAA,MX,TXT/SPF. - Make your own backup of the current site.
We’ll make one too, but make your own just in case — cPanel Backup Wizard → Full Backup. - Gather credentials.
IMAP host/user/password for mail, FTP for files, the URL of the old site for WordPress. - Prepare the destination in Zabec.net’s cPanel.
Mail: Email Accounts → Create. Database: MySQL Databases → new database + user. - (Optional) — sign in with Google or Facebook so you can track all your migrations in one place.
